Call for applications/ nominations for the post of Director General, Indian Council of Medica Research (ICMR)- cum-Secretary, Department of Health Research. Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India invites applications for the above post from Indian Medical Scientists with proven track record of medical/ biological Health research and its administration.

1. Position: Director

2. Essential Qualifications: MBBS, MD or equivalent from a recognised University and approved by Medical Council of India/ National Medical Commission, with more than 15 years of research/ academic/ clinical experience with outstanding scientific achievement and temperament in above fields

3. Desirable Qualifications:

(i) Experience of heading a medical research institute of repute and should have demonstrated managerial/ administrative capability to plan, guide and implement the vast, varied and multifaceted activities in the area of medical research;

(ii) Proven record of Medical/ Bio-medical Health Research as published in prestigious national and international journals;

(iii) Involvement in multicentric/ technological research work involving handling of large projects in medical research; and

(iv) Experience in regulatory issues and international collaborations.

4. Pay and Emoluments: Level-17 (Rs.2,25,000/- fixed) + NPA & other allowances as admissible.
