Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Specialist Grade III (Medicine)

Essential Qualification:
- A recognized Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree included in the First/Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Holders of qualifications in Part II of the Third Schedule must fulfill conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post graduate degree or diploma in the concerned specialty/super specialty:
  (A) Medicine-Doctor of Medicine (Medicine); or
  (B) Doctor of Medicine (General Medicine).
Experience:
- Three years' experience in the concerned specialty/super specialty after obtaining the first postgraduate degree; OR
- Five years' experience after the postgraduate diploma.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years (Relaxable for Govt servants up to 5 years). Age as on 28-02-2026.
