Educational Qualification:
1. Direct or indirect experience in WTO and/or trade issues.
2. Minimum 10 years’ sectoral (Officer Level)/research/teaching experience, of which 8 years should be at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor. Experience at the level of Associate Professor may carry more weight. For persons with research/teaching experience at least 4 years of experience as an Associate Professor should be in a premier institution such as IIM, IIT, IISC, NITIE, Central University, or similar.
3. Ph.D. shall be essential.
4. Consistently good academic record with at least 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at Graduation and PostGraduation level.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was established in 1963 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to contribute in the skill building for the external trade sector of India. It offers research and training in international business and trade. The Institute was granted “Deemed to be University” status in 2002. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has recognized IIFT as Grade ‘A’ Institution in 2005 as well as in 2015.
