IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

1. Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
2. Number of Positions: 01
3. Essential Qualification: B. Tech/M. Tech/MCA/MSc/MS degree in Computer Science and Engineering (Electronic and Communications Engineering or related stream) from an accredited institution AND selected through GATE in CSE or allied streams. Candidates who have been selected through CSIR-UGC NET (Assistant Professorship) or those who have been selected by central Govt. Departments and their agencies and institutions such as IISc, IISER, DRDO, DST etc. are also eligible.
4. Desirable qualification: Should have good knowledge on computer networking concepts, and willingness to understand new standards. Strong aptitude for programming in C. The Hardware Description Languages (HDLs – Verilog/VHDL), and OpenCL will be an added value.
5. Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 31,000 per month + HRA
6. Duration of the project: Max. 24 months
7. Tenure of appointment: The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for a period of 01 year, which may be extended or curtailed, based on the performance of the candidate, availability of funds in the project, requirement in the project

Selection Procedure
1. Schedule Date and Time slots will be communicated through email.
2. Applications will be initially screened, and based on the screening, only the shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview via online/telephone mode. Mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility will not bestow the right for shortlisting, IIT Dharwad reserves the right to screen and shortlist candidates by introducing higher benchmarks. Emails will be sent to all shortlisted candidates.

Indian Institute of Technology dhArwAD (IITdh) is one of the third Generation (3-G) IITs, which were established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI). It was started in August 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. Our academic journey began in the Academic Year (AY) 2016-17, with the establishment of four-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) programs - Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE).
Currently our Institute offers four other B. Tech. programs - Engineering Physics (EP), Mathematics & Computing (M&C), Civil & Infrastructure Engineering (C&IE), Chemical & Biochemical Engineering (C&BE) as well as a five-year Bachelor of Science-Master of Science (BS-MS) program, a two-year Master of Technology (M. Tech.) Program and a Master of Science (MS) Program offered by the three oldest Departments of Mechanical, Materials & Aerospace Engineering (MMAE), Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering (EECE) and CSE. Our Ph. D program is offered by all the ten Departments [which also include the other seven Departments of Bio Science & Bio Engineering (BSBE), Chemical Engineering (ChE), Chemistry, C&IE, Humanities, Economics, Arts and Rural Technologies (HEART), Mathematics and Physics].
