IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Electrical Engineering; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

1. Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (On Contract)

2. Number of Positions: 1

3. Essential Qualification:

M. Tech degree in wireless communications, digital communications (or allied streams) with first class (minimum 60%) OR B. Tech degree with first class (minimum 60%) in Electronics / Electrical or any allied discipline with exposure to communications, signal processing and machine learning along with the qualification of any National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) OR GATE

4. Desirable Qualification:

Either of (I) or (II) (I) Strong orientation towards wireless communications/networks and signal processing. Good understanding of probability theory. (II) Strong orientation towards applied mathematics, machine learning and programming. Familiarity with MATLAB and python.

5. Consolidated Emoluments: 31,000/- per month + 16% HRA

6. Duration of the tenure: Maximum 3 years

7. Tenure of appointment:

The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 04 (four) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project.

8. Project Code and Title: EE/BBN/SERB-CRG/2021/8.76 Federated Deep Learning for Caching in 5G and Beyond Networks

9. Job Description: Design of novel distributed Federated DL based caching algorithms Setting up of test bed/simulation platform for testing the developed algorithms Any administrative activities related to the project.
