IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress.

i. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

1. Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Number of Positions: 01

3. Essential Qualification:

B. Tech/M. Tech/MCA/MSc/MS degree in Computer Science and Engineering (or related stream) from an accredited institution AND selected through GATE in CSE or allied streams. Candidates who have been selected through CSIR-UGC NET (Assistant Professorship) or those who have been selected by central Govt. Departments and their agencies and institutions such as IISc, IISER, DRDO, DST etc. are also eligible.

4. Desirable qualification:

i. Should have good analytical skills in Data structures and Algorithms, Computer Networks, Wireless networks, and Network Security. The candidate is expected to have a hands-on background with experience of programming in Java/Python/C/C++.

ii. The candidate should also have development experience in Machine Learning and Blockchains He/She is expected to learn new concepts in the domain of security, blockchains, and related development frameworks such as Hyperledger.

5. Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 31,000 per month + HRA

6. Duration of the project: Max. 24 months

7. Tenure of appointment: The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance.

8. Project Code and Title: CSE/SNS/SERBSRG/2021/8.71 "AI and Blockchain Driven Privacy Preservation in 5G and Beyond Networks"

9. Job Description:

i. Design and implementation of adversarial framework simulating cyber-attacks using AI for testing the performance of existing security and privacy preservation algorithms in mobile networks.

ii. Design and implementation of secure trusted framework using Blockchains to preserve the privacy in mobile cloud networks against adversarial attacks.

iii. Design and development of AI and Blockchain solutions for preserving the identities of the end users accessing the mobile networks.

iv. Design and development of privacy preserving prototype networks to be implemented in a mobile edge computing scenario using the concepts of Software Defined Networking.
