IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. The Institute is employing bright young and accomplished faculty and staff members. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering; IIT Dharwad intends to hold a selection process for the following temporary position:

1. Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Number of Position: 01

3. Candidate need to satisfy following two criteria: Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Engineering or MCA/MSc. Computer Sc. Any of the following National Eligibility Test/ Exams:

a. CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)

b. GATE

c. National level examination conducted by Central Govt. Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

4. Desirable qualification: Executional expertise – quick turnaround time . Programming and analytical skills (C++ knowledge preferable). 3D solid modelling.  Image processing. Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechanical systems and lab equipment. Ability to abstract the problem and perform quick mechanical calculations. Troubleshooting skills – both mechanical hardware and software. Flexibility and aptitude for learning new skills for interdisciplinary research work. Reading and Writing Software Documentation effectively. Algorithmic and logical thinking, familiarity with basic algorithms – sorting, searching, dynamic programming

5. Consolidated Emoluments Rs. 31,000 per month (excluding HRA)+ 16% HRA

6. Duration of the project Initially for 1 year; extendable to span complete project duration

7. Tenure of appointment The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project.
