IIT Gandhinagar intends to recruit 03 part time lifeguards for indoor swimming pools situated at IITGN sports complex
1. Post Name: Life Guard
2. No of Posts: 03
3. Key Responsibilities:
● Observing the activities of swimmers.
● Enforcing applicable pool policies and regulations.
● Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the water.
● Provide emergency care and treatments as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
● Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
4. Eligibility Criteria
● The candidate must be in possession of an active lifeguard certificate from a reputed Institute.
● Age limit :- minimum 22 Years and should not have completed 45 Years as on 01 Apr 2022.
● Experience :- Minimum 2 Years experience as a swimming pool lifeguard.
5. Skills Required
● Life-saving skills like CPR and emergency medical procedures.
● Highly-skilled in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
● Good physical fitness and stamina.
● Good people skills and the ability to supervise.
● Awareness of health and safety procedures.
● Alertness and a sense of responsibility.
● The ability to remain calm and act appropriately in an emergency
6. Salary: Fixed: monthly remuneration of Rs 22,000/-
7. Timing: Tentative Swimming sessions are as follows: - Morning session: 0600h - 1100h Evening session: 1630h - 2200h
Pay Scale: INR 22000(Per Month)

Selection Procedure
1. Successful candidates will be interviewed thereafter.
2. Practical demonstration of swimming and lifesaving skills will be carried out as follows:
● Jump or dive into deep water.
● Swim 50 meters in less than 50 seconds.
● Swim 100 meters continuously in front and back in deep water.
● Tread water for 45 seconds.
● Bringing out Object/ Dummy from deep water
● Surface dive to the floor of the pool
● Climb out of the pool unaided without using ladders or steps
