Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Post-Doctoral Fellow: PhD in Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, or a closely related field. Candidates who have submitted their doctoral thesis may apply, subject to Institute rules.
• Academic Record: Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards; 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th.
• Research Experience (at least two areas):
• Application of AI/ML in hydrology
• Physics-based or physics-guided data-driven modeling
• Remote Sensing, GIS, and Surveying for Natural Disasters
• Mathematical or hydrological modelling of water systems
• Additional Skills Required: Experience with numerical modelling, scientific programming, peer-reviewed publications, and strong communication skills.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

IIT Gandhinagar will adopt a screening and shortlisting process based on academic record, research experience, and publications. Merely meeting minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee shortlisting. A higher cutoff level may be used by the Institute during screening. The Institute reserves the right not to call an applicant for a selection test or not to fill the position without assigning any reason.

Shortlisted candidates may be called for a personal interview or selection test as deemed necessary by the Institute. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for any stage of the selection process.
