Essential Qualification

• Option A: GATE qualified with B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical/Ceramics/Mechanical/Production Engineering/Nanoscience and Technology.
• Option B: Students who graduated (B.Tech.) from CFTIs (IITs, NITs, IISc, IISERs & CFTIs) in Metallurgical/Ceramics/Mechanical/Production Engineering with CGPA 8.0 or more (without a GATE score).
• Option C: M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgical/Ceramic//Materials/Mechanical (only Design/Manufacturing specializations)/Production Engineering/Nanoscience and Technology.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 28 years on the application date.
• Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST, OBC, and Persons with Disabilities as per GoI rules.

Desirable

• Strong background in the areas of Physical/Mechanical Metallurgy/Materials Processing.
• Proficiency in scientific writing.

Additional Requirements

• Selected candidate must register in the PhD program in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad (subject to fulfillment of PhD requirements).
• Duration: 3 years and extendable up to one further year.
