Indian National Centre For Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) Invites Application for 6 Research Associate Recruitment 2022

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for recruitment of 06 (SIX) position of Research Associate initially for a period of 24 months or till the project is over, whichever is earlier on a temporary contractual basis in the project entitled “Development of Climate Change Advisory Services” under the “Deep Ocean Mission”.

3. Essential Qualification:

Ph.D. in Oceanic Sciences/ Atmospheric Sciences / Climate Sciences / Meteorology / Oceanography / Physical Oceanography / Physics / Mathematics or equivalent degree or having three years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after M.E./M. Tech. with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.

4. Desirable:

(i) Work/research experience in numerical ocean modeling preferably in climate/marine ecosystem/wave/storm surges, orin the analysis of marine biogeochemical observations, or in the analysis of large climate data set.

(ii) Programming skills in Fortran, C/C++, Python, R, etc.

5. Responsibilities:

Selected candidates will be required to contribute to the ongoing ocean modelling, observation and data analysis activities towards objectives of the mission. It is expected that the candidate may also have to participate in the observation campaigns onboard a research vessel.

6. Emoluments: The consolidated monthly stipend + HRA will be fixed as per the DST guidelines. Selected candidates will be placed in suitable level (Research Associate I/II/III) based on their qualification and research experience.
