Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata is inviting applications for the recruitment of one (01) Post Doctoral Fellow on purely temporary basis to work on the project titled “Advanced Machine Learning Techniques for Cryptanalysis” funded by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML) of the Institute. No.PU/507/ADV/691 1. Name of the Post: Post Doctoral Fellow 2. No of Post: 01 3. Qualifications : Essential: Ph.D. degree in the areas related to Computer Science/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Physics. The candidate must have at least 60% marks or equivalent grades throughout from 10th standard onwards. 4. Desirable skills: Good programming skills (in C/ C++/ Python). Academic/ project/ research experience in the areas of Machine Learning and/or Cryptology. Publications in SCI journals / top-tier conferences in Machine Learning and/or Cryptology. 5. Pay : Rupees 50000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) per month (consolidated with no other allowances). 6. Tenure of appointment : The appointment will initially be for ten months from the date of joining in the Institute, which may be extended later/ terminated earlier, depending on availability of funds and performance of the candidates.

Selection Procedure
Shortlisting of eligible candidates for interviews will be done based on academic credentials, relevant experience, and/or a written test. The interview (online or in-person) date will be communicated only to the shortlisted candidates in due time. The interview will be conducted maintaining all preventive measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Global epidemic as directed by the Government of India. The candidate is expected to carry out fundamental research in developing theories and applications of Machine Learning in Cryptology. At the time of joining, selected candidate(s) have to produce all relevant documents/testimonials in original for verification and a medical certificate of fitness from the Medical Officer of the Institute. Failing this, the institute will offer the position to the next candidate in the merit list prepared for this purpose. A resume with incomplete information will be summarily rejected.
