4. Job Responsibilities:

a. Lead ICRISAT's Seed Systems development activities in partnership with NARES of Asia, to develop strategic alliances and interface with partners for production and dissemination of seeds of new varieties of mandated crops.

b. Support rapid varietal replacement in farmer's fields by forging partnerships that empower farmers to take advantage of improved varieties.

c. Engage with other Seed System and relevant ICRISAT Global and Regional Programs to ensure coherence and value-added across regions and with other research teams of ICRISAT.

d. Support and engage in resource mobilization for Institute Seed systems and research activities. 

e. Represent ICRISAT in the global seed sector community, building on existing and forging new partnerships to speed the progress of out-scaling of new varieties of mandated crops.

f. Build strong international and regional strategic alliances related to strengthening seed and delivery systems for improved adoption

5. Assignment Location: The position will be based at ICRISAT's headquarters in Patancheru, near Hyderabad, Telangana State, India.

6. Key Skills:

a. Seed Technology; Agriculture; Development Studies;,

b. Technology out-scaling particularly of improved seed and information dissemination in national / international organizations with high quality research outputs.,

c. Applied research related to innovations in seed sector would be an added advantage.,

d. Leading and supervising teams of scientists and development workers.,

e. Work with different nationalities and disciplines in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.

7.  Additional/Preferred Skills

Fluency in spoken and written English and excellent publication record in international peer- reviewed journals., Communication and Networking.

8. Preferred Qualifications:

a. Ph.D in Agriculture/ Seed Technology/ Development Studies or related discipline from a recognized institution.,

b. Experience: Minimum 10-25 years of Post-PhD experience is required in technology out-scaling particularly of improved seed and information dissemination in national / international organizations with high quality research outputs.,

c. Experience with applied research related to innovations in seed sector would be an added advantage.,

d. Experience in leading and supervising teams of scientists and development workers .,

e. Ability to work with different nationalities and disciplines in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.,

f. Aptitude and skills to formulate projects, strong track record of resource mobilization.,

g. Demonstrated skills in seed sector development and facilitation of public private partnerships.
