Eligibility for Medical Officer (Allopathic)
- Essential: MBBS or Possession of recognized Graduate Medical Qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the 3rd Scheduled (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of education qualifications included in part-II of the 3rd Scheduled should fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

- Open Merit (OM): 40 years (Not born after 01.01.2007, Not born before 01.01.1985)
- PHC: 42 years (Not born after 01.01.2007, Not born before 01.01.1983)
- SC/ST-1, ST-2, Backward areas, OBC, EWS, ALC/IB: 43 years (Not born after 01.01.2007, Not born before 01.01.1982)

Selection Process
Selection will be based on a written test comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The standard of questions will be similar to the National Entrance Eligible Test (NEET) for admission to PG courses. The exam will be 2 hours duration with 100 questions. There will be negative marking (deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer).

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is a constitutional authority established on September 2, 1957, to ensure merit-based recruitment for the Jammu and Kashmir government services.
