Recruitment Overview

The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has invited applications for Project-based positions. This recruitment is for the ICMR Extramural Grant Project No. GAP-3177 titled "Pharmacological targeting of Adiponectin receptor in obesity-associated decline in energy metabolism and insulin sensitivity – Application in diabetes management".

This is a purely temporary engagement on a contract basis. The selection is based on an Interview, though a written screening test may be conducted if required. The interaction will be held Online via MS Teams.

Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification (Anyone of the following):

• M.Sc. in Zoology / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Life Science (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
• B.E./B.Tech. + Three years of research experience.
• B.Sc. (Zoology / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Life Science or equivalent) + Three years of research experience.

Desirable Qualification:

• M.Sc. in the relevant subjects mentioned above.
• Research experience in Cell Culture, Molecular Studies, and Animal Handling will be preferred.

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Maximum Age: 28 Years.
• Age Calculation Date: Age will be reckoned as of the Date of Interview.
• Age Relaxation: Relaxation in age limit will be granted as per Government of India Rules for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Mandatory Requirements

• Ability to interact in English or Hindi before the Selection Committee.
• For candidates currently engaged in any project at CSIR-IIIM, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory before applying.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be done based on the following stages:

1. Screening: If a large number of applications are received, a Written Examination may be conducted for screening.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Online Interview via MS Teams.
3. Document Verification: Original documents (Qualification, DOB, Caste, Age Relaxation) will be verified at the time of selection. Any discrepancy leads to cancellation.

Terms and Conditions

• Duration: The engagement is initially for One Year or until the project duration (up to 07.01.2028), whichever is earlier. It may be extended based on performance.
• Tenure Limit: The total tenure in all CSIR labs combined cannot exceed 5 years.
• Temporary Nature: This is a temporary position and does not confer any right for permanent absorption in CSIR-IIIM/CSIR.
• Disqualification: Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
