It is recognized by the Medical Council of India and was affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore from 1995-1996. It has now become a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Formerly known as JSS University ) established under Section-3 of UGC Act from 28-05-2008.
