It is the largest producer of manganese ore in the country, catering to a critical raw material need for the domestic iron and steel industry. Originally established as the Central Province Manganese Ore Company (CPMO) in 1896, the company was rebranded as MOIL in 1962 after the Indian government took over its operations. MOIL operates with the mission to maximize manganese ore production in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and social responsibility.
