Nagaland University stands as the premier higher education institution in the state and is recognized as the 13th Central University of India. Established under THE NAGALAND UNIVERSITY ACT 1989, this central university plays a pivotal role in the academic and administrative landscape of the region. For aspirants targeting government jobs and public sector careers in the education and research domain, understanding the institution's stature is vital. It serves as a hub for Nagaland University recruitment and academic excellence.
Established on September 6, 1994, the university functions under the jurisdiction of the entire state of Nagaland. Previously, the region fell under the catchment area of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), with campuses in Kohima and SASRD-Medziphema. With the inception of Nagaland University, these campuses and affiliated colleges were integrated into its framework, marking a significant milestone in regional development.
The official headquarters is located in Lumami. Following its establishment, the university functioned from an interim headquarters in Kohima for nearly a decade and a half. Academic departments were sanctioned in 1997 and established at Lumami while administrative operations remained in Kohima. Following substantial construction and infrastructure development, the university fully shifted its headquarters to Lumami in mid-2010. Today, Nagaland University continues to facilitate latest sarkari naukri updates and academic opportunities for the youth of Nagaland.
