Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India launched the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) on 15th September 2014 for implementing the same through States/UT Governments to ensure easy access to quality and cost-effective AYUSH healthcare services across the country.
Union Cabinet on 20th March 2020 had also approved operationalization of 12500 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centers component under AYUSHMAN BHARAT for implementation through NAM to provide a holistic wellness model based on AYUSH principles and practices, to empower masses for “self-care” to reduce the disease burden, and out-of-pocket expenditure.
