Eligibility Criteria for NCB Stenographer Grade-I Post

This recruitment is specifically for Deputation from among existing Stenographers under the Central Government. The detailed eligibility criteria are as follows:

1. Essential Experience (Any one of the following):

• Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in parent cadre/department.
• Having six years' regular service in Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300) of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
• Having ten years' regular service in Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.

2. Age Limit:

The maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

3. Period of Deputation:

Ordinarily not exceeding three years, extendable up to a maximum of 7 years based on performance and suitability. No further extension will be granted beyond 7 years.

Salary & Pay Scale (7th CPC) for NCB Stenographer 2026

Selected candidates will be placed in Level-6 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
