Applications are invited for filling up of the post of Chairperson, National Biodiversity Authority, a body corporate under Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India with headquarters at Chennai (Tamil Nadu) in the fixed pay Level 17 i.e. Rs. 2,25,000/- per month (as per 7th CPC) with allowances as admissible under the Central Government Rules 1. Post Name: Chairperson 2. Pay Scale: Pay Level 17 i.e. Rs. 2,25,000/- per month (as per 7th CPC) 3. The post is proposed to be filled either on deputation basis or by selection from outside the Central Government. 4. In case the appointment is through deputation, the applicant should not be below the rank of Additional secretary to the Government of India as per the Recruitment Rules 5. The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) was established in the year 2003, it's an autonomous body function for Government of India on issues of Conservation, Sustainable use of Biological Resources & use of its Components and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of utilization of biological resources.
The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) focusing on advice the State Government on matter relating to the conservation of biodiversity, commercial utilization or bio survey by Indians and Local Level Biodiversity Management (LLBM), responsible for promoting conservation of Land Races, Folk, varieties and cultivation, domesticated stocks and breeds of animal and microorganism and chronicling of knowledge relating to biological diversity.
