National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) invites application for the post of “Research Scientist (Project)” under NBRC Core Funds for MRI Data Centre.

i. Applications are invited for the position of Research Scientist (Project) in the laboratory of Prof. Pravat K. Mandal at National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, India. The primary scientific interest of the lab is to identify early in vivo biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Alzheimer’s disease.

ii. The lab uses multi-modal neuroimaging techniques, i.e. magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI (fMRI), and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to investigate the associated structural, functional, and neurochemical brain alterations, respectively. We have developed Indian Brain template, BRAHMA and Big data analytics “Bharat” fir early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

3. Essential qualification: M. E. / M Tech (Electrical / Electronics / E C E) with at least 3 years’ research experience after the degree. 60% parks from 10th standard onwards

4. Desirable experience:

i. Prior hands on experience with Digital Image processing is welcome

ii. Expertise in MATLAB coding.

iii. Strong academic record and clear evidence of research focus as demonstrated by.

iv. Excellent scientific communication and writing skills. Experience with writing scientific manuscripts is mandatory. Ability to independently lead research projects.

5. Job Profile: QSM processing; Application of MRS signal processing

6. Job Responsibilities: Project Scientist will be doing data collection, analysis and interpretation with close collaboration with the PI and have to visit collaborating institutes.

7. Emoluments: 70,000/- p.m. (consolidated) (No other allowances are applicable)

8. Tenure:The tenure will be initially for a period of one year extendable another year on performance review. The post is co-terminus with the project.

9. Accommodation: Accommodation may be provided as per rules of NBRC, subject to availability

2. Only candidates who are shortlisted will be called for interview.

3. Merely fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualification and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for interview.
