Educational Qualification: M.E/M.Tech, M.Phil/Ph.D

Applications are invited for the position of Project Scientist I (Project) under the NBRC Flagship Project entitled “Comparative Mapping of Common Mental Disorders (CMD) Over Lifespan” funded by DBT and coordinated by Director, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, Haryana (PI: Dr Arpan Banerjee).

2. No. of positions: 01 (One)

3. Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.

4. Desirable qualification:

Doctoral Degree in Science with problems related to Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Technology from a recognized University. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply.

5. Experiences: 

Expertise in Signal processing/ Computational methods and modelling/ datamining using fMRI and EEG/MEG brain signals/ advanced statistics Given the nature of the project experience and interest in Systems and Computational Cognitive Neuroscience will be considered an added advantage.

6. Mandatory Requirement:

A Statement of Purpose (SOP) should accompany the application, failing without which the application will not be considered. The SOP is a critical document that muststate clearly the relationship between the applicant’s research/ career interests and the research objectives of the lab.

7. Job Profile / Responsibility:

i. The focus of the project will be to unravel the link between Brain connectivity and dynamics across variety of common mental disorders (CMD) over the humanlifespan.

ii. In this project, we are going to relate EEG, fMRI brain activity patterns, anatomy and functional connectivity alterations with behavioral deficits observed in younger and elderly cohort to understand whether the young and elderly groupstypically exhibit overlapping and non-overlapping features observed in large scale brain networks and dynamics.

iii. Finally, an overarching aim of this project would be to use and apply computational models to gain insight into age associated brain connectivity changes and behavioral phenotype and symptom severity.

8. Emoluments: 56,000/- per month + 8% HRA. No other allowances / benefits will be admissible

9. Mode and duration of appointment: 

Appointment will be made on contract basis, initially for a period upto 28.09.2022. Continuation of appointment will depend upon satisfactory performance during the appointment period and validity of the project. The post is co-terminus with the project.
