Educational Qualification: Technical Assistant: Graduation in Computer Science/ Business administration from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks
Young Professional II: Master's degree in Fisheries Science with specialization in Aquaculture/ Aquatic Animal Health Management/ Fish pathology and Microbiology/
Biotechnology/ any other fisheries science subjects OR Master's degree in Life Sciences with two years research experience in Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology
Consultant: Ph.D. in Aquatic Animal Health/ Fish Pathology & Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences or Master's degree in Fish Pathology & Microbiology/ Aquaculture/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences with 04/05 years Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of research experience as evidenced from fellowship/ associateship/ training and with one research paper in Science Citation indexed (SCI) journals
Senior Consultant: B.Tech/B.C.A. in Computer Science and Master's in Geoinformatics/ GIS & remote sensing with at least 5 years experience in database management and use of remote sensing and GIS tools for spatial analysis/mapping/applications in the relevant field.

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBFGR) was established in December 1983 in a rented premises at Allahabad under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research to undertake research related to the conservation of fish germplasm resources of the country. The Bureau’s permanent infrastructure was developed at Canal Ring Road, Telibagh, Lucknow, U.P in 1999 comprising an administrative block, laboratories, farm and residential complex covering an area of 52 acres. The Institute's vision is assessment and conservation of fish genetic resources for intellectual property protection, sustainable utilization and posterity.
