Educational Qualification:
Scientist-G: Ph. D. /Equivalent with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with 15 years’ experience of Post- qualification in R & D.
Scientist-E: 1st class or equivalent in M. Tech. /M.D. /M. V. Sc. /M. Pharm. M.Sc. with at least 11 years research experience OR Ph.D. with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with about 8 years’ experience in R & D.
Scientist-D: 1st class or equivalent in M. Tech. /M.D. /M. V. Sc. /M. Pharm OR M.Sc. with Ph.D. with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with 9 years’ experience in R & D OR Ph.D. with at least five years research experience in the relevant subject.
Scientist-C: 1st class or equivalent in M.Tech./M.D./M.V.Sc./M.Pharm/M.Sc. with 5 years’ experience OR Ph.D. with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with about 4 years’ experience in R & D.
Scientist-B: 1st Class in MSc/MTech/MD/MVSc/MPharm with three years’ experience in R & D or Ph.D. in relevant field with one year post-doctoral experience.

The National Centre for Cell Science, Pune (NCCS) was established as a National Repository of Animal Cell Culture with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/ hybridomas etc. It also conducts manpower development in animal tissue culture through training programmes/workshops and extends infrastructural facilities to researchers and institutions in biochemical sciences.
NCCS was established as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.
During its transformation, the centre has undergone several changes to facilitate achievement of its goals. The centre has expanded its scientific charter to strengthen basic research in the areas of cancer biology, cell biology, immunology, genomics and proteomics.
