Eligibility for Professor

  • Essential: Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline; published work of high quality; minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals with a total research score of 120; minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience and evidence of guiding doctoral candidates.
  • OR: An outstanding professional with Ph.D. and 10 years of significant contribution to the field.
  • Pay Scale: Academic level 14 with entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200/-.

Eligibility for Associate Professor

  • Essential: Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines; Master's Degree with at least 55% marks; minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience; minimum 7 publications and a research score of 75.
  • Pay Scale: Academic level 13A with entry pay of Rs. 1,31,400/-.

Eligibility for Assistant Professor

  • Essential: Master's degree with 55% marks in a concerned/relevant/allied subject; must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016. Exemption from NET is available for candidates with Ph.D. obtained from foreign universities in top 500 rankings.
  • Pay Scale: Academic level 10 with entry pay of Rs. 57,700/-.

Eligibility for Deputy Librarian & Assistant Librarian

  • Essential: Master's Degree in Library Science with at least 55% marks; knowledge of computerization; experience (8 years for Deputy Librarian); Ph.D. preferred. Assistant Librarians must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or have a Ph.D. as per UGC norms.
  • Pay Scale: Deputy Librarian (Level 13A), Assistant Librarian (Level 10).

About National Council of Educational Research and Training

National Council of Educational Research and Training Logo

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education. The major objectives of NCERT and its constituent units are to: undertake, promote and coordinate research in areas related to school education; prepare and publish model textbooks, supplementary material, newsletters, journals and develops educational kits, multimedia digital materials, etc. organise pre-service and in-service training of teachers; develop and disseminate innovative educational techniques and practices;collaborate and network with state educational departments, universities, NGOs and other educational institutions; act as a clearing house for ideas and information in matters related to school education; and act as a nodal agency for achieving the goals of Universalisation of Elementary Education. In addition to research, development, training, extension, publication and dissemination activities, NCERT is an implementation agency for bilateral cultural exchange programmes with other countries in the field of school education. The NCERT also interacts and works in collaboration with the international organisations, visiting foreign delegations and offers various training facilities to educational personnel from developing countries.
