Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination from a recognized university.
  • Provisional Admission: Candidates who have appeared or are yet to appear in the final MBBS Examination may also apply. This is provisional and subject to cancellation if proof of passing is not produced within the stipulated time (15 days after the written exam result).
  • Internship: Candidates who have yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship are educationally eligible to appear, but will be appointed only after its completion.

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age (General): 32 Years (candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1994).
  • For Medical Officers Grade – General Duty (CHS): Maximum 35 Years.
  • Age as on: 01 August 2026.

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Defence Services personnel disabled: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 years (with at least 5 years Military Service as on 01.08.2026)
  • ECOs/SSCOs: 5 years (with Ministry of Defence certificate)
  • PwBD: 10 years (Cumulative relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC + PwBD)

Mandatory Requirements

  • Nationality: Citizen of India, or subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee (pre-1962), or Person of Indian Origin from specified countries (eligibility certificate required for categories b-e).
  • Physical & Medical Standards: Must be physically and medically fit as per Appendix III to the Rules of the Examination.
  • Marital Status: No person who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse shall be eligible, unless exempted under personal law with Central Government approval.

Selection is based on two stages: Written Examination (500 Marks) + Personality Test/Interview (100 Marks) = Total 600 Marks.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

  2. Complete the four modules: Account Creation, Universal Registration (URN), Common Application Form (CAF), and Examination Specific Module.
  3. Upload scanned photograph (20-200 KB), signature (20-100 KB), and a live photograph during CAF filling.
  4. Signature must be signed three times on plain white paper in black ink.
  5. Keep a Photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, Passport, etc.) ready for reference.
