Overview

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) on behalf of the Standardisation Testing & Quality Certification Directorate (STQC) has invited applications for the post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade). This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a valid driving license and relevant experience to secure a Group C non-gazetted position under the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Staff Car Driver

• Essential Qualification:
  • Pass in 10th Standard from a Recognised Board.
  • Possession of a valid Driving License for Motor Car.
  • Experience of driving a motor car for at least three years.
• Desirable:
  • Three years of service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers.
• Age Limit: Between 18-25 years (as of the closing date, 26/02/2026).
• Age Relaxation:
  • Up to 40 years for Central Government employees with 3 years of regular service.
  • Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen as per rules.

Selection Process

The selection process involves the following stages:

1. Written Examination: An Objective Type (OMR/Computer Based) test consisting of 120 questions covering General Awareness, Intelligence, English/Hindi, Traffic Rules, and Driving Techniques. No negative marking. Candidates must secure 25% cut-off (General/EWS) to qualify.
2. Skill Test: Candidates shortlisted based on written exam marks will undergo a qualifying Skill Test in Delhi to assess driving skills, motor mechanics, and traffic knowledge.
3. Final Merit: Based strictly on marks obtained in the Written Examination.
