CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Head Quarters, Goa.

3. Project Vacancy Details: Quantification of mineral dust sources and associated trace metal composition over the Bay of Bengal

7. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Experience in marine biological sample collection from water column, and identification, quantification and ecology and dynamics of phytoplankton and zooplankton. Selected candidate will have to carry out field work in the estuary, coastal and offshore waters onboard boats/trawlers/research vessels for marine biological sample collection and analysis in the laboratory; maintain and manage the project database; statistical analyses; helping scientists in preparation of reports and manuscripts.

7. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Candidate should have good knowledge in the analysis of phytoplankton. Experience in cruise activities, good publication record in reputed journals. Analysis of plankton samples; participation in field works on research ships/fishing trawlers in coastal waters and assist the scientists in processing the data.

7. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Experience of cruise participation for collection of seawater samples, sample analysis, handling analytical equipments and knowledge of commonly used computer applications.Assisting scientists in samples collection, sample analysis and processing of data.

8. Monthly Emoluments (Rs.): Rs.35000/- Plus HRA as per rules

Selection Procedure

1. If number of applications are more, then selection committee will fix a criteria to shortlist the applicants. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. Selection will be done on the basis of online interview through either Skype/Google Meet/Zoom or any other suitable software, as decided by the competent authority.
