CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Regional Centre Mumbai.

1. Position: Project Associate-I

2. No. of. Posts: 02

3. Essential Qualification: M.Sc Marine Science / Marine Biology with NET/GATE qualification

4. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Benthic sample collection and taxonomic analysis.The selected candidates will be required to participate in deep-sea cruises, carry out work on biological sample collection, analysis, processing of data and prepare reports related to projects.

5. Monthly Emoluments (Rs.): Rs.31000 /- Plus HRA as per rules

6. Project Title and Vacancy Details: Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study under Polymetallic Nodules (PMN) programme. Vacancy Code GAP2128/2235-22 Tenure: 11 Months

Selection Procedure

1. If a number of applications are more, then the selection committee will fix the criteria to shortlist the applicants. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. Selection will be done on the basis of an online interview through either Skype/Google Meet/Zoom or any other suitable software, as decided by the competent authority.

2. Applications received after the due date (17 April 2022) will be rejected. The short-listed candidates will be informed through e-mail/website.

3. Proposed Date of Interview for shortlisted candidates: GAP2128/2235-22: 28 April 2022, 10.00 AM Onwards. The above date for the interview is proposed date may be subjected to change and (if any) will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates. The exact date and interview timings will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates by email.
