Educational Qualification: M.Sc

CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Head Quarters, Goa.

1. Position: Project Associate-I

2. No. of. Posts: 01

3. Essential Qualification: M.Sc Zoology/ Marine Biology/ Marine Science (Biology specialization) / Biological Oceanography and Biodiversity/ Oceanography with Biological Oceanography Specialization.

4. Desirable Qualification: Experience in identification of plankton/ benthic fauna, with basic understanding of marine ecology sample collection & knowledge in computer applications. Analysis of biological samples; participation in field works on fishing trawlers/ research ships in coastal waters and assist the PI in processing the data and writing of report.

5. Monthly Emoluments: Rs.25000/- Plus HRA as per rules

3. Essential Qualification: M.Sc Mathematics / Applied Mathematics

4. Desirable Qualification: Good knowledge in coastal processes and boundary value problem related to waterwaves, as well as working Experience in C/C++/ Matlab/any other computer programming language.The selected candidates will be engaged in field data collection, hydrodynamic modelling and report preparation. The duration of the post will be extended depending upon the candidate’s performance.

5. Monthly Emoluments: Rs.25000/- Plus HRA as per rules

Selection Procedure

1. If number of applications are more, then selection committee will fix a criteria to shortlist the applicants. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. Selection will be done on the basis of online interview through either Skype/Google Meet/Zoom or any other suitable software, as decided by the competent authority.

2. Applications received after the due date (26 December 2021) will be rejected. The short-listed candidates will be informed through e-mail/website.
