National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has released a recruitment advertisement for a project position in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. This is a temporary contractual position for a duration of 6 months under the ICSSR-funded project titled "Guardians of the Forest."

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Field Investigator (FI)

• Essential Qualification: Post-graduate in any social science discipline with minimum 55% marks.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Post-graduate in Anthropology, Sociology, Environmental Studies, Social Work, or related disciplines.
  • Familiarity with field-based qualitative research methods.
  • Proficiency in Odia (spoken and written) and basic communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to stay and work in remote rural areas during fieldwork.
• Age Limit: Upper age limit is 32 years, with relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Female applicants and 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer).

Salary / Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated remuneration of INR 20,000.00 per month. The position is purely temporary/contractual and will end with the completion of the project.

Selection Process

Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview. The interview will be held at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, NIT Rourkela. The date and time will be communicated via email.
