Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) project titled “Deep Learning-Based Reconfigurable and Multifunctional Nanophotonic Interconnects for Hyperscale Data Centers and 6G Backhaul Networks” in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.

3. Essential Qualification : 

a) B.E/B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering and M.E/M.Tech or equivalent in Optical Communication/Communication System/Applied Electronics with a minimum of 60% (or above) aggregate marks (CGPA ≥ 6.5/10) in UG and PG

b) A valid GATE / equivalent national level test score is a desirable requirement. However, Applicants who have not qualified in GATE/equivalent national level test are also eligible to apply.

4. Salary : Rs.31,000/- + 16% HRA per month for GATE candidates; For Non-GATE Candidates Rs. 25,000+16% HRA per month

5. Job Description : 

a) Expertise on Design of Nanophotonic Devices, Modeling and Simulation analysis using Photonic CAD tools such as Rsoft, Lumerical etc

b) Simulation, Fabrication and Experimental verification of the Nanophotonic Devices

c) Purchase of equipment and components for the project

d) Documentation of results.

6. Duration of Project : 36 Months (Tenure extension based on fund availability, and performance review every 12 months)
