Note: "B.T." refers to Backward Tribe categories under Nagaland's reservation policy. In the absence of PwBD candidates, the 3 backlog vacancies shall be de-reserved.
Eligibility Criteria

| Educational Qualification | Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution. |
| Additional Qualification | 6 (six) months Diploma in Computer Operation. |
| Shorthand Requirement | 1 (one) year course in Shorthand with a speed of 80 words per minute. |
| Age Limit | Minimum 21 years, Maximum 32 years as on 01.01.2026. Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years; Serving Government employees: up to 5 years. |
Salary: Pay Band Level 8 (₹28,700 – ₹91,300).
Application Fee: OTR is free. Examination Fee: ₹300, Convenience Fee: ₹25, plus applicable Payment Gateway Charges.
Reservation Policy
- 100% vacancies are reserved for candidates belonging to Naga Tribes, Kuki, Kachari, Garo, and Mikir who are Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland.
- Reservation for Backward Tribes as per government notifications.
- Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability as per applicable government orders.

How to Apply for NPSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026
Candidates must apply online through the official NPSC portal. Follow these steps to apply:
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to npsc.nagaland.gov.in.
- Complete OTR: Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process, available from noon of 21 August to noon of 02 September 2026. This is free of cost.
- Apply Online: After completing OTR, submit the online application form for the Stenographer post between noon of 21 August and noon of 03 September 2026.
- Upload NOC: Government employees must upload a "No Objection Certificate" while submitting the online application.
