Indian nationals are invited for one temporary position of Research Associate-I under the MHRD STAR project entitled “Comparing the disparate imparts of Oak and pine tree species on their local hydrological and hydroclimatic regimes in the west-central Himalayas”, in the School of Earth & Planetary Sciences, NISER, Bhubaneswar funded MHRD-STAR, Govt. of India.
1. Name of the Post: Research Associate-I
2. No of Post: 01
3. Essential Qualifications: Ph.D./M.S. or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after ME/M.Tech. with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
4. Desirable: Prior experience with (1) sap flux assembly and measurements to measure tree evapotranspiration, (2) hydrological and turbulent flux measurements and analysis, and, (3) working in remotely located instrumented catchments either in the Himalayas or Western Ghats. Certificate of the first dose of a COVID vaccine is desirable due to the intensive field nature of this position which would require the associate to spend significant amounts of time at mountainous field sites.
5. Monthly Emoluments: Rs.47,000/- pm plus HRA as per rules
6. The above position is purely temporary for a period of five months or completion of project whichever is earlier and strictly co-terminus with the project. It would, therefore, not confer any right/ claim, implicit, or explicit for consideration/ absorption against any NISER post.

The date of Interview for the position of Research Associate-I advertised vide advt. no. NISER/R&D200/EPS2003/14/2021-22 is hereby extended up to 03.01.2022. The last date of submission of duly filled-in application form along with copies of all the Educational Certificates is 31.12.2021.
