Educational Qualification: M.A
National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal is an Institute of National Importance, established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India imparts education in the field of Engineering, Science and Management at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. The Institute invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for Public Relations Officer position purely on a contract basis for a period of one (01) year, further extendable based on the satisfactory performance.
1. Post Name: Public Relations Officer
2. Educational Qualification:
a) Essential Qualification: Master's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication/ Public Relations/ Media Management or Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication with at least 55% marks.
b) Desirable Qualification: Proficiency in the use of latest Computer (M.S Word, Excel, Power Point), Mobile Applications and Social Media Applications (E.g.: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.). • Multimedia Publication, Promotional Material Development, Advertising.
3.Experience :
a) Prior experience with media or public relations in a Media Industry/ Government Institution/ University is essential.
b) Publication of newsletters, bulletins, handling print and electronic media.
c) Basic Knowledge in social media content creation/ Photo/ Video shooting and editing.
4. Salary: Salary commensurate with experience minimum of Rs.40,000/- per month

1. No correspondence/ interim/ personal inquires will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/ interview.
2. Selected candidates will have to produce a medical fitness certificate from a Government Hospital prior to joining. They should be prepared to join duty within the specified time limit.
3. The selected candidate is required to participate and cover all Institute events including those that are held beyond normal working hours.

National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is located in Mangalore City, Karnataka State, India. The Institute was established as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) in 1960, and upgraded as National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002. Mangalore is the headquarters of the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, and boasts an important centre of education, business and trade in the state. Sri. U. Srinivasa Mallya, a visionary and a philanthropist, contributed immensely to the development of the coastal region of Karnataka, and his effort towards establishment of KREC (now NITK) is the most significant one. In recognition of his role as the founder and architect of the institute, the campus premises is named after him as Srinivasnagar.
