National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a DST-sponsored R&D project. Eligibility for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET/GATE) or other National level examinations conducted by DST, DRDO, IISC, IIT, IISER etc. (as per Office Memorandum dated 26 June 2023).
• Desirable Experience: Specialization in Mechanical Engineering.
• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years. (Relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD/EWS candidates as per Govt. of India rules).

Salary / Stipend

• First 2 Years (JRF): Rs. 37,000/- per month.
• Next Phase (SRF): Rs. 42,000/- per month (subject to performance review).

Selection Process

Selection will be based on an interview. The date and mode (online/offline) of the interview will be notified via email to shortlisted candidates. The institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for the interview.
