National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is looking for a creative, team-spirited and skilled copywriter with an eye for detail, to write clear, concise, informative, compelling and engaging copy (and polish up content) for NIUA’s publications, social media, interviews, website, etc.

1. Post Name: Copywriter

2. Objectives of the Role

a. Working with various project teams, understanding their message and target audience, and generating copy concepts with a distinct tonal quality suitable to NIUA’s communication and outreach initiatives.

b. Interpreting creative direction and technical information for turning them into persuasive copy concepts/text-content.

c. Maintaining high accuracy and quality of edited and proof read work

3. Responsibilities:

a. Writing error-free, clear, compelling content for various mediums (e.g. publications, social media, blog posts, newsletters etc) after understanding project/organization requirements for NIUA’s stakeholders

b. Conducting research and interviews where required for creating copy/content for NIUA’s communication and outreach initiatives

c. Working with creative professionals to build awareness/educational products/publications and campaigns

d. Grasping project requirements quickly and offering valuable insight

e. Staying updated on appropriate style and brand guidelines for consistency in messaging

4. Desired Skills and Qualification

a. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline Minimum 2-3 year professional copywriting experience with a credible portfolio of work Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

b. Proficiency in English Grammar Exceptional research skill Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. Additional understanding of Adobe Acrobat Pro preferred.

c. Knowledge of online content strategy and creation Excellent organizational skill and multitasking ability Ability to work independently and with a team to meet short deadlines Ability to deliver quality results in a fast-phased and dynamic environment Excellent time-management and organizational skills
