National Institute of Virology (NIV) is an apex laboratory under the aegis of the Indian council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

2. Name of the Post: Project Technical Support III
3. Number of Posts: 01 (ST Backlog)
4. Emoluments: Rs. 32000/-p.m.
5. Essential Qualification: Graduate in Life Sciences-specialization required in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Virology. Five years work experience OR Master’s Degree in above subjects.
6. Desirable Qualification: Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/Tissue culture techniques/Bioinformatics/Virological Techniques/Serology handling infectious agents

Selection Procedure
1. ICMR-NIV will not be responsible if candidate fails to submit their application within time for any reason. Applications received within the stipulated date, time and complete in all respects will only be screened by the screening committee of ICMR-NIV to shortlist candidates for further process of engaging the above project human resources.
2. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee the selection.
3. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department / Organizations are not eligible to apply.
4. The Institute reserves rights to consider or reject any application/candidature.

Applications are invited through online for the following vacancies under non Institutional project human resource positions, purely on temporary contract basis for its short-term research projects, being undertaken at ICMR-National Institute of Virology, Pune. Virus Research Center (VRC) was established in Pune in 1952 under the joint auspices of ICMR and Rockefeller Foundation, as part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. It was renamed as National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978. NIV is also the National Centre for Hepatitis and Influenza. In 1995 it has been redesignated as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arbovirus and Haemorrhagic Fever Reference and Research and Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases.
