Educational Qualification & Experience:Post-specific qualifications as detailed above. All educational qualifications must be from a recognized Board/University. Experience requirements vary by post and are detailed in the eligibility table.
Skills:For Administrative/Clerical: Proficiency in MS Office, typing, word processing, database management. For Driver: Valid driving license, accident-free driving record. For Lab Assistant: Electronics, soldering, troubleshooting. For Security Guard: Physical fitness, security procedures, computer knowledge.
Age Limit:Age limits are post-specific (28 to 35 years) as detailed in the vacancy table. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved categories. Age will be reckoned as on 31 August 2026.
Salary (per month):
Total Monthly Emoluments (TME) range from ₹32,040 to ₹73,020 depending on the post and HQ, as detailed in the vacancy table.

The Centre has its roots in the Radio Astronomy Group of TIFR, set up in the early 1960s under the leadership of Prof. Govind Swarup. The group designed and built the Ooty Radio Telescope. In the early 80's an ambitious plan for a new telescope was proposed - the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope. Since the site chosen for this new telescope was close to Pune, a new home for the group was built in the scenic campus of Pune University. The radio astronomy group morphed into the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics around this time.
