Educational Qualification:
Assistant Professor: A Master‘s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed).

Ford Foundation Chair in Public Interest Law: An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the UGC Regulations, 2018.

Associate Professor:
(i) A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
(ii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria as per the UGC Regulations, 2018.

67700-208700/- Per Month

Age Limit: Maximum 45 Years.

The Motto of the University is "Dharmo Rakshati Rakshata" which means "Those who protect justice are protected by justice". It is a State University. The University has around 400 undergraduates and about 100 postgraduates in it. The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is an institution that is a part of Karnataka Legislative Assembly specially for the undergraduate and graduate legal education in India. It was the first University of National Law that took place. The school has a constant ranking of being in the list of the most prestigious law school in India. The NLSIU was ranked top most Outlook India Top 10 Law Colleges of 2011 as well as in Mint Top 15 Law Colleges of 2009 and also ranked first on the India Today India's Best law Colleges 2012

The school is situated in Bangalore, and was sanctioned by a written law that was passed by the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka state. The school existed on August 29 in the year 1987. In 1987, NLSIU was sanctioned under the leadership of its founder, and later its Vice-Chancellor N.R.Madhava Menon. The very first batch of law students joined the school of undergraduate program on July 1, 1988. The school later shifted to its currentlocation in Nagarbhavi, a suburb of Bangalore.
