Educational Qualification:
Junior Stenographer: 10+2/XII or its equivalent and proficiency in stenography as per the prescribed norms fixed by DoPT from time to time.
Junior Secretariat Assistant: 10+2/XII or its equivalent and proficiency in computer type speed and in using computer as per the prescribed norm fixed by DoPT from time to time.
Pay Scale:
INR
19900-81100/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 28 Years.
Selection Procedure: A Committee duly constituted by the Director, CSIR-NML, will shortlist the candidates fulfilling the qualification(s), terms and conditions of this advertisement. However, detailed scrutiny will be done only at the time of final selection.
Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay application fee of Rs.500/- (five hundred only).

The foundation stone for National Metallurgical Laboratory was laid by Hon’ble Sri C. Rajagopalachari on 21st November, 1946. It was formally inaugurated and dedicated to the nation on 26th November, 1950 by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru “in a spirit of hope and in a spirit of faith in the future’. The laboratory was an element of Sir Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar’s vision of providing India with a network of research institutions for taking the country ahead in science and technology. CSIR-NML played a significant role in the industrial revolution of India starting from 1950 especially in the areas of mineral processing, iron and steel making, ferroalloys and extraction of non-ferrous metals, notably magnesium. Asia’s largest creep testing facility was also set up at CSIR-NML in the early 1970s and even today it ranks as the second largest creep testing lab in Asia.
National Metallurgical Laboratory is the third in the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) family of 38 laboratories. The foundation stone of NML was laid on 21st November 1946. R & D at National Metallurgical Laboratory focuses on Minerals, Metals and Materials. National Metallurgical Laboratory has the largest creep testing facility in India and one of the largest in Asia. The company has strong presence in Magnetic materials, Rapidly solidified alloys, Surface Coatings, Metallic Foams, and many others. Advanced materials processing include Mechanochemical activation, Semi-solid processing, Biomimicry, Thermo-mechanical treatments, High Temperature Synthesis, Advanced Joining, Grain boundary engineering, High strain rate forming, and several other techniques. Interested candidates can pursue courses in B.Tech in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering + M.Tech in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering, 10+2/XII and speed of 80 W.P.M. in shorthand and 40/35 W.P.M. in typewriting in English/Hindi, 10+2 with Diploma (IT/Computer Science of 3-yr duration) OR BCA OR B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) OR GNIIT; Ph.D (Engineering), Ph.D (Science), M.Tech; Graduate in Computer Science or Graduate with 2 years Diploma in Computer Science with knowledge of Computer applications / Office Automation & data entry operations/ Database management systems, for a great career at National Metallurgical Laboratory.
