Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Security Officer: Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO) holding the rank of Subedar or higher, or hold an equivalent rank in other Para-Military Forces (e.g., CRPF, BSF, ITBP).
• Mandatory Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of security.
  • Exception: For Short Service Commissioned Officers and incumbents holding the position of Assistant Commandant in forces like CRPF/BSF/ITBP, the required experience is 5 years.
  • Exception: For Inspectors from Para-Military Forces, the required experience is 10 years.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection process for the CSIR NEIST Security Officer post comprises the following stages:

1. Physical and Personality Assessment Test: This test is of a qualifying nature.
2. Written Test: Candidates who qualify the physical test will appear for a written examination comprising Paper-I and Paper-II.
3. Final Merit List: The final selection will be based on the performance of candidates in Paper-II of the written test.
