Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Code 0901 – Project Associate-I: M.Sc. in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Biotechnology.
- Code 0902 – Principal Project Associate: PhD in Computer Science & Engg./IT/Computer Science/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Biotechnology, plus 3 years experience in R&D in industrial/academic institutions or S&T organizations.
- Code 0903 – Project Technical Support-III: 1st class M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Science.
- Code 0904 – Senior Project Associate: M.Sc. in Botany / Life Science / Taxonomy / Agriculture / Pharmacology / Chemistry / Bioinformatics / Biotechnology / Environmental Science with minimum 3 years experience, OR PhD in any of the above subjects.
- Code 0905 – Project Associate-II: M.Sc. in Life Science / Taxonomy / Agriculture / Pharmacology / Chemistry / Bioinformatics with minimum 2 years experience in MAPs R&D in industrial/academic institutions or S&T organizations.
- Code 0906 – Project Associate-I: M.Sc. in Life Science / Botany / Taxonomy / Agriculture / Pharmacology / Bioinformatics / Chemistry / Biotechnology.
- Code 0907 – Project Associate-I: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Code 0908 – Project Assistant-II: Graduate in Science.
- Code 0909 – Assistant Project Manager: PhD in Botany/Biotechnology/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Agronomy/Agriculture with minimum 2 years experience in medicinal & aromatic plants, R&D management, conservation, and cultivation practices; OR M.Sc. in the above subjects with 5 years experience in medicinal & aromatic plants R&D.
- Code 0910 – Project Associate-I: M.Sc. in Chemistry / Chemical Science / Material Science.
- Code 0911 – Senior Project Associate: B.Tech in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Chemical Science and Technology with 3 years experience; OR M.Sc. in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology with specialization in Bioinformatics/Chemistry (Computational Chemistry) with 3 years experience; OR PhD in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Computational Chemistry with 3 years experience.
- Code 0912 – Project Associate-I: 1st class M.Sc. in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry / Applied Chemistry).
- Code 0913 – Project Associate-I: M.Sc. in Chemistry.

Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Online Application Submission: Candidates must apply for each post code separately through the CSIR-NEIST Prostaff portal at neist.res.in/prostaff/ before 17 October 2026 (05:00 P.M.).
- Shortlisting: A screening committee will shortlist eligible candidates based on academic performance (qualifying degree, percentage/marks) and relevant research or professional experience as specified for each post code.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview in hybrid mode (in-person at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, and online) tentatively scheduled for 02 November 2026. Candidates must carry a signed printout of the registration form along with original testimonials on the interview date.
- Final Selection: Final appointment will be based on performance in the interview, document verification, and merit ranking.
