Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has invited applications for the engagement of personnel on a contractual basis at the Centre of Excellence for Energy Studies (CoEES), Guwahati. Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Contractual Geologist (Organic Geochemistry)

• Essential:
  • M.Sc. (Geology / Applied Geology) or M. Tech. (Geology / Applied Geology) of minimum 02 (Two) years duration from Government recognized University/Institute.
  • Must possess PhD degree with specialization in Organic Geochemistry.
  • Post Qualification Work experience of more than 03 (Three) years in Geological Laboratory of Oil & Gas Industry/ Research Organization/ University/ Institute.
• Experience & Skills:
  • Research experience in Organic petrography, Organic geochemistry, Petroleum/Coal Geology.
  • In-depth knowledge of Organic petrography, Maceral Studies, Sedimentology, Geochemical analysis and interpretation.
  • Must have at least 2 publications in reputed peer-reviewed Journals and Conference Proceedings.
  • Knowledge of operating Rock Eval Pyrolyzer, GC, GCMS, Petrological Microscope, Organic Petrographical analysis, and Vitrinite Reflectance measurement.
  • Knowledge of Indian sedimentary basins and Igneous/Metamorphic terrain.
  • Experience in outcrop geological mapping in sedimentary basins.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, Upper age limit 45 years as on date of registration.

Salary/Stipend

The total Contract Emoluments consist of Fixed and Variable components, totaling ₹ 80,000/- per month. Additionally, an incidental allowance of ₹ 500/- per day is provided for days worked outside the place of posting.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on a Walk-in-Interview consisting of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 50 for all categories. Selection will be based on merit regarding Professional Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Attributes.

Interested candidates must report for registration at the venue between 09:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. on 07/01/2026. Candidates must bring originals and self-attested copies of the following documents:

• Filled Personal Bio-Data Form (provided in the advertisement).
• 1 recent 3cm X 3cm coloured passport photograph.
• Valid Photo ID and Address Proof.
• Date of Birth proof (Class X certificate).
• Educational certificates (Marksheets, Pass Certificates).
• Experience Certificates.
• Caste/Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) if applicable.
• No-Objection Certificate (if currently employed).
