Applications are invited for the engagement of Part Time Correspondents (PTCs) for the following districts:

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Part Time Correspondent (PTC)

• Essential Qualification:
  1. PG Diploma / Degree in journalism / Mass Media OR Graduate with minimum 2 years journalistic experience.
  2. Knowledge of computer and word processing.
  3. Possession of news gathering devices.
• Age Limit: 24 to 50 years (Age as on the last day of advertisement).
• Residential Requirement: Should reside at the respective district Headquarters or within a radius of 10 kms. from the District Headquarters/Municipal limit.
• Desirable: Experience of coverage for electronic media.

Salary / Remuneration

Monthly remuneration will be calculated as per NSD’s circular No. RNU/PTC Guidelines/Modification/2022/1152, dated 28.08.2024. The monthly remuneration is on an average Rs. 9,250/- including conveyance and telephone charges, subject to satisfactory rendering of service.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve an interview of candidates based on the following criteria:

• Qualifications and professional experience.
• Knowledge about district and State, current affairs.
• Awareness of welfare schemes of the Central Government.
• Acquaintance with Radio news, journalistic aptitude, writing skills.
• Familiarization with communication technologies.

Note: Persons already in government service or members of any political party are not eligible.

Terms & Conditions

• Engagement is on a contractual retainership basis.
• Initial contract is for 3 months (probation) and will be renewed monthly. If satisfactory, a yearly contract may be offered up to the age of 60 years.
• Performance will be monitored by the RNU Head.
