- Seven (7) years of teaching and/or research experience for General Disciplines, or four (4) years for Super-specialty Disciplines.
- Assistant Professor:
- Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule, or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MD/MS) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
- Three (3) years of teaching and/or research experience as Senior Resident/Demonstrator/Tutor/Lecturer or equivalent for General Discipline.
- No experience necessary for Super-Specialty Discipline candidates holding D.M./M.Ch.
- Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS):
