Eligibility Criteria (In-Depth)
1. Educational Qualification
- Masterโs Degree: A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
- NET/SET: The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC (e.g., SLET/SET).
- Ph.D. Exemption: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign University/Institution with a ranking among top 500 in the world University ranking (QS/THE/ARWU) are exempted from NET/SET requirements.
2. Age Limit
- As per UGC/University of Delhi norms. There is typically no upper age limit for Assistant Professor posts in Universities/Colleges, provided the candidate is medically fit.
- Age as on: Candidates should possess the prescribed qualifications and experience as on the closing date of application (02 March 2026).
3. Age Relaxation
Relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories as per Government of India/UGC norms.
Selection Process
The selection process is rigorous and involves screening followed by a presentation and interview.
- Screening: Applications are screened by a Screening Committee. Candidates need to score a minimum of 55 marks to be shortlisted. A relaxation of 5 marks is given to SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Shortlisting Ratio: 40 candidates for the first vacancy and 20 candidates for every additional vacancy shall be called for the interview.
