Educational Qualification: Senior Scientist(Bioinformatics/IT): PhD with minimum of nine (09) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/ E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science with minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology/ data science, out of which 3 years must be in scientific/technical program/ project leadership role.
Research Consultant : PhD with minimum of nine (09) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C/ Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/ Data Science with minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, or BTech in CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science or MCA with minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology /data science,out of which 3 years must be in
Research Consultant: PhD with minimum of nine (09) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C/ with minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, or BTech in
CS/ IT/E&C or MCA with minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in an academic/industry setting as Security consultant (or equivalent).
Scientis: PhD with three (03) years of experience, or MTech (in any branch of engineering/ science) with six (06) years of experience in an academic setting/industry in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology/ data science, genomics/ proteomics/ metabolomics, structural biology, biodiversity etc.
Database Manager: PhD with three (03) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C/ Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/Data Science with eight (08)years of experience in an academic setting/industry in design/implementation of modern database technologies, HPC and parallel computing, cloud computing etc.
Database Manager: PhD with three (03) years of experience, or MTech in CS/IT/E&C with eight (08) years of experience in an academic/industry setting as IT Security analyst/manager (or equivalent).
Database Engineer/Software Developer:MTech (in any branch of engineering/ science) with five (05) years oexperience, or BTech /MSc in any
branch of engineering/science or MCA with eight (08) years of experience in database/ software design/development and programming skills relating to modern
database technologies, HPC and parallel computing, cloud computing etc. in IT industry or academic setup
Data Curator: MTech in CS/IT/E&C/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science with four (04) years of experience, or MCA/BTech in CS/IT/E&C/
Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/ Data Science, or MSc (Biological Sciences) with six (06)years of experience in the area of bioinformatics/ computational
biology/data science, genomics/proteomics/metabolomics, structural biology, biodiversity etc.
System Administrator: MTech (CS/IT/E&C) with five (05)years of experience, or BTech /MSc in CS/IT/E&C or MCA with eight (08)years of experience in managing and maintaining a large data center or similar infrastructure. Extensive experience in LINUX environment, experience and knowledge about parallel/distributed computing environments, workload management software in HPC clusters and SMP machines, latest HPC cluster management tools, tools for measuring performance of parallel applications in HPC setup and very good knowledge of state-of-the-art CPU/ GPU servers for HPC environment is essential.
System Administrator: MTech (CS/IT/E&C) with five (05)years of experience, or BTech /MSc in CS/IT/E&C or MCA with eight (08) years of experience in managing and maintaining a large data center or similar infrastructure. Mandate of the Centre is to provide a platform for biotechnology education, training and research at the interface of multiple disciplines. The programmes of the Centre are designed to create opportunities for students to engage in multi-disciplinary research where they learn biotech science while integrating engineering, medicine and science, to provide solutions for human and animal health, agriculture and environmental technologies.
The mission of the Centre is to create opportunities for multi-disciplinary education, training and research in biotechnology. The vision is to produce human resource tailored to drive innovation in biotechnology, particularly in areas of new opportunities and also to fill talent gap in deficient areas.
The Centre has been recognized as an 'Institution of National Importance' through an act of Indian Parliament, for biotechnology education, training and research. The Centre is also regarded as a "Category II Centre" in terms of "the principles and guidelines for the establishment and functioning of UNESCO Institutes and Centres".
