Educational Qualification:
a. M.A. in Indian language/ Linguistics/ Applied Linguistics/ Translation Studies from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks.
b. Proficiency in two or more languages (of which at least one should be a Scheduled language).
c. Demonstrable translation skills from Hindi/English/Sanskrit to at least one Scheduled language and vice-versa.
d. Knowledge of computer, typing, and ICT skills is essential.

Originally founded by the Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrit Sahitya Sammelan, it was taken over by the Government of India in 1967. Guided by late Prime Ministers Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and Smt.
